Spring car maintenance, these points are very important!

Recently, temperatures have been rising in various regions, and we are about to welcome the warm and pleasant spring. After enduring the tests of the harsh winter, our beloved cars also require care akin to a spring breeze. The maintenance and use of cars in spring are quite particular. Have you paid attention to these key points?
01 Ensure the car body is well-sealed.

In spring, the sandy weather results in an increased amount of sand, so it is advisable to check the car window seals in advance for any signs of ageing, delamination, or cracking. If necessary, replace them promptly to enhance the vehicle's airtightness and prevent sand from entering. This approach not only helps to tackle the dusty weather but also improves the efficiency of the car's air conditioning when the weather becomes warmer.  

Ensure thorough disinfection and mould prevention.

In spring, the climate is warm and rainy, making it easy for mould to grow in various parts of the car. Therefore, it is essential to carry out anti-mould disinfection treatments on areas such as the air conditioning, interior, electrical circuits, roof lining, and central console. Regular cleaning should be done to maintain a dry and tidy car environment. 

Pay particular attention to cleaning the air conditioning.

During the winter, air conditioners are used more frequently. Prolonged exposure to snow and rain can cause the condenser to become covered in mud and sand, which, over time, can lead to a certain degree of damage. Therefore, at the change of seasons, it is important to inspect the air conditioner's condenser, switches, and filters, ideally replacing the filters with new ones.

04Car paint waterproofing and anti-ageing.

In spring, increased rainfall and acidic substances in the rain can damage the vehicle's paintwork. During seasonal maintenance, in addition to thoroughly cleaning the vehicle, it is advisable to give the vehicle a paintwork treatment. Depending on your needs, choose either waxing or glazing to maintain a bright and shiny surface.  

Windscreen wipers should not be overlooked.

After a winter of frequent use, the inspection of the windscreen wipers should not be neglected, as spring driving safety relies on them. Check if the wiper arms exhibit any uneven movement or missed wiping, and whether the rubber blades are showing signs of ageing or hardening. 

06 Tyre pressure needs to be adjusted.

Although we have adjusted the tyre pressure during winter, it may still change in spring due to the effects of thermal expansion and contraction. It is important to check the tyre pressure and adjust it promptly. If necessary, equip your vehicle with an onboard air pump, which can both inflate and deflate the tyres to ensure normal pressure. Additionally, inspect the condition of the tyres, clean them thoroughly, and ensure driving safety.

Other aspects, such as chassis brake maintenance, fluid replenishment, and radiator cleaning, should be emphasised based on the vehicle's routine maintenance schedule. It is essential to remind vehicle owners that if the car was not used much during winter, all parts of the vehicle should still be checked regularly, as prolonged periods of inactivity can actually cause more harm to the car.

Moreover, do not overlook the importance of changing the engine oil. As temperatures gradually rise in spring, choose an oil that suits your car's needs and is appropriate for the season and climate.
